Obwohl Bratislava jahrelang direkt vor meiner Tür gelegen ist (ich komme ursprünglich aus dem Bezirk Bruck an der Leitha) hab ich es meistens nur zum Zigaretten kaufen über die Grenze geschafft. (Ja, früher, sehr viel früher, als ich noch geraucht habe...) Zum Glück wohnt meine liebe Kollegin Katka in Bratislava und hat uns eingeladen, uns die Stadt aus ihrer Perspektive zu zeigen.
Und so hat sich die Reisegruppe Pony an einem Freitag auf den Weg gemacht um die fernen Mauern von Pressburg zu erkunden.
Though Bratislava lies practically in front of me (I grew up near Bruck/Leitha) I mainly went there to buy my cigarettes (yes, I smoked, in a galaxy far, far away...) Lucky me my beloved coworker Katka calls Bratislava her home and invited us to show us this wonderful city from her angle. And so the travelgroup Pony one Friday packed its bags to explore the walls of Pressburg.
KATKAS CASTLE
Unsere Katarina empfing Raffi, Tina und mich in ihren stylishen Hallen mit einen Gläschen Sekt und Antipasti. Man muss wissen, dass ihre Wohnung wirklich aussieht, als ob sie dem schöner Wohnen Magazin entsprungen wäre. In der Küche klebt spezielles Moos an der Wand, das Badezimmer beeindruckt mit schwarzen Armaturen und das Wohnzimmer ist liebevoll mit Industrial Elementen dekoriert. Generell kommt man sich vor, wie wenn man bei den wirklich coolen Freunden von seinen Eltern zu Gast wäre, die viel erwachsener und viel reifer sind als man selbst.
Our Katarina welcomed Raffi, Tina and myself in her stylish home with a glass of bubbly and Antipasti – the way to our hearts. You've got to know, that Katka's flat looks like an Ad in HOME Magazine. The kitchen walls are covered in a special moss, the bathroom impresses with black mountings and the living room is decorated with beautiful industrial elements. All in all you feel like being at your parents very cool friend's house.
Unser erster Stopp an diesem Abend führte uns ins The Velvet. Wo wir bei Champagner und Beef Tatar den Abend einläuteten. Das Restaurant ist im Roaring Twenties Stil eingerichtet. Das Personal weiß was es tut, Cocktails und Essen waren perfekt. Sogar die Eiswürfel waren gebrandet. The Velvet ist kein Restaurant, es ist eine Institution, eine Marke. Selbst die Toiletten sind stilvoll ;)
Our first stop of the evenig was The Velvet, welcoming the night with Champagne and Beef Tatar. The Restaurant's interior is an homage to the Roaring Twenties. The staff knows exactly what it is doing, Cocktails and food were perfect. Even the ice cubes were branded with the logo. The velvet is not just a Restaurant, it's an insitution, a brand itself. Even the restrooms were decorated in style.
Wenn man das Mirror betritt, ist es als würde man in eine andere Welt eintauchen. Das Konzept der Bar ist es, den Gast zum Träumen einzuladen, indem man Geschmack, Geruch und Aussehen zu einer perfekten Symbiose kombiniert. Man kann zwischen Cocktails aus drei Kategorien auswählen Classy, Art und Nature. Das Mirror möchte in den Olymp der besten Bars der Welt aufgenommen werden und meiner Meinung nach sind sie am besten Weg dorthin. Wir waren beeindruckt!
Entering the Mirror you feel like entering into a different world. The concept of the bar is to inspire their guests to dream by creating a perfect symbiosis of taste, smell and look. You can choose your drinks out of three categories: classy, art and nature. The Mirror wants to climb the Olymp of the best bars in the world and in my opinion they are definitely on the right path. We've been impressed!
Welcome to the sky! Die Sky Bar erstreckt sich auf zwei Stockwerke und teilt sich in Restaurant und, obviously, Bar auf. Von hier hat man einen wunderbaren Blick über die Burg und die Altstadt von Bratislava. Die Cocktails sind zwar nicht so fancy wie in der Mirror Bar, aber nicht weniger liebevoll gestaltet. Natürlich kann man damit rechnen, dass "the Tub" wirklich eine Badewanne ist, das Quietschentchen drinnen hat mir aber trotzdem ein Lächeln ins Gesicht gezaubert.
Welcome to the sky! The Sky bar is spans over two floors, one for the Restaurant and one obviously for the bar. You have a great view over the Old Town of Bratislava and the castle. The cocktails ar not as fancy as in the Mirror Bar but created with love. For example if ordering "the Tub" it comes with a small duck inside. Isn't that cute?
Letzter Stopp an diesem Abend war die Mow Bar. Wir wollten die beste Shisha der Stadt, wir bekamen die beste Shisha der Stadt. Auch diese Bar war bis ins kleinste Detail durchgestylt. Bereits beim Betreten vom Mow wird man von leicht süßlichen Shishaschwaden empfangen. Normale Zigaretten sind übrigens drinnen nicht erlaubt.
Last stop for the evening was the Mow Bar. We wanted the best Shisha in town, we got the best shisha in town. This bar's interior was also planned to the very last detail. When entering Mow Bar you get greeted by sweet Shisha vapors. Normal cigarettes are prohibited.
